Primus Immigration wants to inform you that, as of April 1, 2014, the new Québec immigration program is in effect.
By way of this program, Immigration Québec will be accepting 6,500 applications in the Skilled Workers subclass between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2015. Kindly note that this quota has now been reached.
The Québec Skilled Workers program is open to all professions, but certain professions will be attributed different points. We advise you to read the information about this new law that is provided on the BIQ’s website: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/rules-procedures.html
As well, starting January 1st, 2015 the Federal program called Express Entry has opened. This is not a new program; however, it is a new “filter” that will allow the Canadian government select the best qualifying applicants. In general terms, the candidate must meet the requirements in order to complete and have an immigration process to obtain the Canadian permanent residence.
Similar to old requirements, the point system for example includes the dominion of the English language, education, work experience, age, etc.
The candidates who want to apply to Canada’s key economic immigration programs will be able to create an online profile and express their interest in coming to Canada permanently.
Candidates who meet the minimum criteria will be accepted into the pool and will be ranked according to various factors. As mentioned before, these include language proficiency, education and work experience.
According to this system, the highest ranking candidate will be invited to apply for permanent residence. The government has announced that their goal is to process the applications in about six months or less.
The Canadian government has mentioned that the Express Entry marks a major progress for skilled foreign nationals and employers alike. They have said that the Express Entry will allow Citizenship and Immigration Canada to identify those who are most likely to succeed economically in Canada, instead of simply processing applications on a first-come, first-served basis. This will result in faster processing and will allow the Government of Canada to be more flexible and respond better to Canada’s changing labour market needs.
Due to all of these aspects, it is very important to obtain the highest possible points and complete a solid application.
